Viticulture Luís Cardoso Meneses
This wine was the first one to blend these two grape varieties (Alvarinho and Loureiro) in the Minho region in 1996. It is produced on two different estates: The Alvarinho is produced on Casa do Capitão-Mor (Quinta da Boavista) in Mazedo, Monção. Here the soil is a granitic calcareous with a rough texture, covered by pebbles.
The grape variety Loureiro is produced in Barcelos, in the Cávado sub-region. Most of the soil of the Loureiro vines are granitic, with medium grain and rich in quartz, and partially from a schist soil. The grape production adopts EU certified environmentally friendly practices of "Integrated Protection".

Oenology Rui Walter Cunha
Wine cellars: Two. One located in Monção and another in Barcelos in the Quinta de Paços, both placed within the estate.
Vinification: The grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and part of them are submitted to pellicular maceration for five hour with temperature control. After being decanted the must is fermented in stainless steel at low temperature. The wine stays on top of the slim lees with "batonnage" until bottling. "Best Buy" 2005

Escanção (Sommelier Portuguese Association, "Escanção" Magazine) July 05: Pure and clear, open straw colour with a citric yellow tone. Good intensity, delicate with notes of apple, white plum, orange blossom, on very pleasant and well achieved profile. Full attack of flavour and freshness, good body, with a firm acidity which helps the aromatic persistency, all of it very scented. Clearly for the warm weather, but it will reward if there is no rush. Goes well along dry sheep cheeses, pork terrine with herbs and fennel puree.
