Recognition
Awards
Since the 19th century
Our wines have been recognized nationally and internationally, which is attested by the numerous awards and distinctions obtained.
In 1874, our wines were presented at an exhibition in London. In 1876, Casa de Paços wine received its first prize at the International Exhibition of the Centenary of the United States of America, which took place in the city of Philadelphia. Twelve years later, it was the wine from Casa do Capitão-mor, or Quinta da Boavista, to win two awards at the Portuguese Wine Exhibition in Berlin: silver and bronze medals.
These are the oldest awards in the current demarcated region of Vinhos Verdes as well as in the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço.
